Better than a Hotel better than a Bed and Breakfast
My Big Art Project
My Big Art Project
Hello, my name is Steve Murdock, I started My Big Art Project in 2016 with the simple dream of turning my house into art and paying for it by letting guests stay with me. Since then I have had thousands of people stay in my house, hotel, bed and breakast. I am proud that I found a way to make a living as an artist without selling my art. So I can focus on what I am inspired to make instead of what would sell. I am fluent in many artistic mediums, but my strength is creativity. I always have several projects in the works and there is always something new to see. Along with my art, I also showcase art from my family and friends.
Cancelation Policy
Because I am a small bed and breakfast last-minute cancelations hurt my business. My cancelation policy is you have till 45 days before the reservation to cancel at no charge. Reservations made within 45 days of arrival have 24 hours from when you made the reservation to cancel.
My Big Art Project Granola
1 cup raw sunflower seeds
1 cup raw pumpkin seeds
1 cup raw sliced almonds
1 cup walnuts
1 cup pecans
10 cups oatmeal
1 cup Coconut oil
2 cups honey
The ratio is twice as many cups of oats as total cups of nuts, and a 1/2 cup of honey or every 4 cups of raw ingredients.
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Put all dry ingredients in a plastic bag, I use an old vegetable bag or the bag I got the bulk seeds in. Add melted Coconut oil and roll the bag on the counter until everything is coated with oil. Pour granola into baking dishes. I use a 9"x13" glass oblong pan. Glass pan works better than a metal pan. If you use a metal pan you will need to mix the granola more often and shorten cooking times slightly. You want the granola about 2" thick in the pan. Make sure the granola is flat and consistent thickness to prevent burning. Drizzle honey on, use the measuring cup you used for the coconut oil so the honey doesn't stick.
Put granola in a 350 degree preheated oven for 15 minutes. Get granola out of the oven and using your biggest spatula turn the granola over and mix it, especially in the corners. Flatten the granola to prevent burning and then place back in the oven for 15 minutes again. repeat 2 more times stirring each time this time for 10 minutes or until golden brown.
So a total of 15 + 15 + 10 + 10 = 50 minutes approximately.
Tips:
*I mix several batches of the dry mix at one time and then pull them out and cook them as needed.
*I sometimes use more honey when I want it to clump together more and be a little sweater. It browns faster with more honey.
*All ingredient amounts can be changed to fit your taste.
*I've used Pistachios and sesame seeds and liked both.
